We welcome all new members, and hope you will enjoy the exercise and friendship of our group. Hopefully this article will give you some information and background of Hinckley Ramblers.
We are the local branch based in the town of Hinckley and part of the Leicestershire Area of the R.A. We have approximately 200 members and walks are organised most weekends throughout the year, ranging from Saturday 5 miles half-day local walks to 10-12 mile full day walks on Sundays. These take us around the Leicestershire and neighbouring counties. We also offer Coach Rambles occasional weekends/weeks away in Hotels, YHA hostel, camping barn or B&B accommodation.
All Sunday walks normally meet at LOWER BOND STREET CAR PARK LE10 1QU (opposite the Atkins Centre). These are normally full day walks, so a packed lunch etc is advisable. A short pub stop for a drink/toilets etc is also often arranged. Travel is normally by car with a voluntary contribution of £0.25p per person per mile. We share the total between all the occupants of the car.
If you are from ouside of the Hinckley area, and wish to meet us at the start of a walk, please contact the Walkleader or use our email address.
